Cooper & Aves / London // Magnums. Base Mark: (Dot). Goldfields Pickle Applied top. Aqua. 1 Quart. 279 mm. 1850s
Very Good. A huge bottle, not sure what magnums refers to, but possibly the size of the bottle? Cooper and Aves were celebrated oilmen that were supplying a range of goods to Australia in the 1850s. This piece was found in Melbourne in the same hole as the Grimble Vinegar in this auction. Tiny impact nick to base heel. One small spot of pitted wear to body. Stained throughout, this has a slightly etched feel to it. Some minor rust spots. Some fine scuffs and scratches and a couple of fine fisheyes. A really interesting and early Australian found bottle. Grade: 7.5 Estimate: $50 - 75
