Pair of Trade Mark / Lightning preserving jars. Both M base marks. (Victoria, Australia) Household Jar Bail or Lightning Stopper type. Large has a Ground lip, small a crude machine finished lip. Sun coloured amethyst. Half Gallon & Quart. 260 & 210 mm. 1910s
Large jar is Excellent. The lid however has a fracture along 40 mm of the edge. Just general usage wear light scuffs and scratches. Nice ground lip with only minor nibbles or flakes. Small Jar is Very Good. Has a weird 18 x 4 mm bruise low down on the inner lip. Some small chips to the lid. Lovely colour and quite a crude machine made type with lots of folds and the like throughout the glass. Great looking pair of jars. Grade: N/A Estimate: $$30.00 - $50.00
