Plain jar attributed to Sherwin. (Tasmania) Pottery Australian Two tone, red top, mustard body. Half Gallon. 199 mm. 1850s
Very Good. A very distinctive jar, this should have Sherwin on it but does not. A few little nicks around the lip and some rust stain. Couple of small chips under base and some thin slivers as well. Glaze flake to shoulder. Some wear to the glaze. About half the jar is crazed heavily which is discoloured. Nice piece of very early Australian pottery. Grade: 7.5 Estimate: $$100.00 - $150.00
