Gardener / Brand. Base Mark: AGM / 18 / M77. (South Australian Fruitgrowers' Co-operative Society Ltd.) Household Jar Machine made. Clear. 1 Pint. 119 mm. 1930s
Very Good. A 1932 newspaper states that canned and bottled foodstuffs of the well-known and popular ''Gardener" brand have been manufactured in South Australia for the past 20 years by the South Australian Fruitgrowers' Co-operative Society Ltd., at their ideal factory at St. Peters. The "Gardener" products included chutney, cordials, canned and preserved fruits, jams and jellies, jelly crystals, mustard sauce, pickles, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce and more. This jar is very dirty, needs a good clean to bring it up. A 4 x 3 mm angled fracture to the rear edge in the upper body. Tiny impact under base. Scattered scuffs and scratches, one or two tiny impact marks. A South Australian jar that you do not often see. Grade: 7 Estimate: $$20.00 - $30.00
