Pyrogallic Acid. Lead seal: Fabrik=Marke / (Star) / Trade-Mark. Base Mark: 500. Poison Glass Applied top. Cobalt. 20 oz. 194 mm. 1890s

Near Mint. Pyrogallic acid is a white, crystalline, water-soluble, poisonous, solid, phenolic compound obtained by heating gallic acid and water. It is used chiefly as a developer in photography, as a mordant for wool, in dyeing, and in medicine in the treatment of certain skin conditions, so if you have psoriasis, you should buy this as it is still full with the contents! There are a couple of scratches. Label is pretty good, there is some wear and a couple of holes. Some very light haze in a small patch under the base. A very interesting item. Grade: 9.1 Estimate: $$20.00 - $30.00
