Yardley's / (Red Cherries) / Tooth Paste / London & Paris. Pot Lid Tooth Paste Rectangle pot lid with coloured cherries, black print on white lid. 84 mm wide. 1890s
Good. Discoloured hairline goes from cherries about 30 mm to the edge of lid, then down the 13 mm to bottom of flange. From the inside, this hairline travels around 50 mm. Little flake to face edge near right. A few little nicks and spots of wear to the sharp edges and underside of flange. Some discoloured crazing and spots of rust to be found. The red cherries have a little wear to the colour which is likely overglaze, the black print is underglaze. Comes with a fitting base, although looks like the base has had some grinding done to facilitate the lid fitting nicely. Chip or two to the edges. Grading on lid only. Grade: 6.4 Estimate: $100 - 150
