Cobalt Grimble's Vinegar. No base mark. Goldfields Vinegar Applied top, flared lip. Square body. 12 horizontgal rings around the neck. Diamond lattice pattern to three sides, one side remains blank for a label. Cobalt. 26 oz. 324 mm. 1860s
Fair. Looks superb, this is shiny throughout with two smallish open bubbles and the odd scratch to be found here or there. Little impact under base. This is where it goes awry! There is a 25 mm crack in the neck which joins up with an approximately 150 mm crack from below the lip down to the upper part of the diamond lattice pattern. You could display this with the crack facing you and find it difficult to see, but with the crack to the rear this appears as a mint bottle. Here is your chance to buy one of these superb pieces for a fraction of the price of a mint one. Grade: 5.7 Estimate: $150 - 250
