Pair of buckles found on the Sofala goldfields. 1. Ornate rectangle shape buckle with little clamp - Patent. 2. Round buckle with Crescent Moon and Star Design. Sporting Buckle Both are brass or similar. 1. 57 mm across. 2. 44 mm across.. 1880s
1. Very Good. Not sure what sort of buckle this was. Has a thin patent clamp on one wide side, other wide side has a thin bar with a few remains of things on there. Some minor bends. 2. Very Good. Design on crescent moon has a middle eastern appearance? Couple of dints and bends. Some surface corrosion and dirt. Clamps to rear are corroded and missing. Interesting piece. Both of these were found on the Sofala goldfields. Grade: N/A Estimate: $30 - 40
