Pair of amber chemist jars: 1. Acet- / Phenetid. 2. Guaiacol. / Carbon. Both have polished pontils. Medicine Chemist Both: Applied top. Brown and white label. 8 sided. Amber. 2 oz. Both about 90 mm without stopper. 1900s
1. Fair. Flake chip to upper front lip. Some chipping to rear lip, which is quite thin in the flared out section. Chip to rear base edge. Nibbled flake to front base edge. Scratches. Enamelled label is pretty good. The stopper has the same label on it! Interestingly, by way of matching, there is a 32 on the bottle, 32 also on the stopper, just in case people could not match the labels? 2. Good. Chip to left upper lip. Chip to rear under lip. A few scratches and some minor grime. 43 on the bottle, 43 also on the stopper to help with matching. The stopper has the same enamelled label on it showing the contents. Little flake to the edge of this. Label on bottle is great with some minor stains. A superb pair of really unusual chemist bottles. Great for those who like something a little different.
