Chevron Salad Oil. Base Mark: 970. Original label to neck: Sublime / Salad Oil. Original body label: George Whybrow / Trade (G.W.) Mark / Sublime / Salad Oil / London. Goldfields Salad Oil Applied top. Aqua. 7 oz. 214 mm. 1860s
Excellent. Extremely shallow inner lip flake. There are some fine sliver flakes to outer lip. Some inner fine grime looks like it will clean out. One or two minor marks. The neck label is part missing, stained, faded and poor. Main body label has some small tears and pieces missing. The right side is not attached so is blowing in the wind so to speak. Discoloured with wear. All of the writing is legible, this remains a great example of an original label on a very old bottle, quite amazing really. Label fits perfectly into the label space, no doubt it is original. Grade: 8.4 Estimate: $50 - 75
