Set of four glass inverted apothecary show or specimen domes. Medicine Chemist Four clear glass show domes. About 170 mm high. 1900s
All are excellent or above. These are sealed with a cork in the base. They were made to display powdered, crystalline and dried vegetable substances, etc in schools, chemist shops, trade fairs, museums, etc/ They date to the late 1800s, early 1900s. They would have had paper labels affixed describing the contents. These ones were used on a display at an early Australian agricultural show in the early 1900s with dried milk products manufactured by the local dairy factory. Two of these still have the dairy products within. All are pretty much spotless except for the one with the yellow coloured crystalline substance within which has a small flake chip under the base. The odd scratch or two may be found and some grime, but in general, like the day they were made. Very interesting items! Grade: N/A Estimate: $50 - 75
