Dressing Table or Bathroom metal container marked: Chypre with a glass bottle inside. Household Perfume Plated metal container with thread to allow top to screw off to reveal an early glass container inside which has a metal spout to enter the pouring section of the metal container. 190 mm. 1920s
Very Good. The metal case is probably plated copper or brass. Some of the plating has minor spots of dullness, but generally it is quite solid. Some surface scratches. There are a few dints to the shoulder area. The inner bottle has a ground lip. It is dull throughout. An interesting item. Chypre is French for Cyprus. The term Chypre goes back to François Coty who created in 1917 a perfume of the same name, which this container would have held. Grade: 7.7 Estimate: $65 - 70
