Blue and White Wedgwood style inkwell with floral patterns, four quill holes. Ink Stoneware Round Stoneware ink with four nib holes in shoulder, floral pattern to sides. Blue and White. 2 oz. 50 mm. 1880s
Excellent. A little like Wedgwood Jasperware, I don't think this is though? One small spot of rust to applied decoration. 25 mm very fine hairline under base. Looks a little discoloured, but I think this is the way it was made. Superb looking item. From the famous ink collection of Bert Hayward, Bert was on the cover of the Australian Bottle Review in February 1976 with his display of inks! Grade: 8 Estimate: $75 - 100
