Very Good. The wicker basket around this is solid in the most part, but as is often the case, the base has worn, in this case it is missing. The bottom rim has come loose, is separate but still with this piece. Back to the demijohn, it has a lip chip, about 18 x 14 mm. Some inner lip wear. The upper lip has some fine pinpricks to the glaze. A few scratches to the shoulder glaze. The shoulder glaze is very crude with some glaze misses that add great character to this piece. There is a shallow chip to the base edge and a couple of pottery pulls under the base. This is different to Lot 398 in the previous auction, as this has Ltd at the end of the first line. Yet another of the many variations available from this big company of the day. Grade: 7.2 Estimate: $100 - 150
