Squat Black Horse. Black Glass Beer Applied top. Black. 26 oz. 255 mm. 1860s
Poor. Repaired/Restored. Looks like the original pieces have been used for this restoration. The top has been broken off at the lower neck. The lower right neck has a piece missing after the repair. Looks like a chunk has been glued in below the shoulder which goes through the registration diamond. Another large section out of the left rear shoulder has been glued back in place. Chip out of glass down left. Possible a repair through the horse as well. It is hard to tell the full extent as there has been a coating of black paint or similar applied, this is quite thick and so partly fills any flakes and cracked areas, making them hard to follow. Also it is impossible to see through this to see the cracks as well. Purely a shelf example, this looks good on the shelf and comes at a fraction of the price of a good example. Grade: 0 Estimate: $50 - 75
