Plummer Murphy & Co / Trade / (Castle) / Mark / Sth Melbourne / Regd 1894. Base Mark: V. Correct wooden stopper: P.M & Co. (Victoria) Aerated Water Internal Thread Applied top. Aqua. 26 oz. 263 mm. 1890s
Very Good. 7 x 6 mm inner lip bruise from a tiny upper lip impact. Tiny nick to lip in a different spot. Left rear shoulder has a short curved surface type fracture. Small bunch of fisheyes to right lower body behind the seam line. What we first thought was a patch of scuffed wear near rear base seems to actually be sticker residue instead and should clean off. A bit of grime amongst the embossing, which is very strong, couple of other patches of grime which will also wash off. Some scuffs and scratches scattered around. Fisheye under base. Little nibbled flake to inner tram track of embossing on left. Small burst bubble also to embossing. A superb example of quite a crude bottle, one of the best we have seen of this example with the V base mark. Grade: 7.6 Estimate: $100 - 150
