The dictionary is a small one named after Dr Samuel Johnson. 183 mm, dictionary is 152 mm.. 1880s

Near Mint. A later reform style flask, this has more of a Rockingham Style glaze. A little bit of dust and grime. Sam's left lower sleeve and hand have a few little glaze flakes and nicks. The writing on this one appears to be printed. From the collection of Bert Hayward. The dictionary is good. An early dictionary. Has a picture of Samuel Johnson inside, for whom the dictionary was named. Also has a newspaper snippet stating that Samuel Johnson was the first person to write a dictionary in the English language back in 1755. The binding is poor with the cover hanging off. Pages are discoloured. Some tears. Not sure on the age, but has to be prior to 1900. Grade: 9 Estimate: $100 - 150
