Dillon / Burrows / & Co / Melbourne. No base mark. (Victoria) Household Jar Rolled lip. Aqua. 1 Gallon. 292 mm without lid. 1900s
Good. Crudely formed lip with folds in the glass. A bit nibbled amongst one of these folds on one side. Approximately 40mm long fracture along the bottom line of the rolled lip which is very hard to see as it follows this line. Small impact flake to opposite lip. Little double flake to front base edge. Some inner stain looks like it will clean out. Nibbled base flake to left side. Front right base has an odd looking mark, this appears to be an inner fracture that angles downwards along the base. Very hard to even see, let alone measure, but looks to be about 40 mm. Further inspection on a different angle now reveals a little more. From under the jar, this mark can be seen to go over 90 mm, the fracture in this bottom section seems to go straight up from the base through to the inner base. Some scuffs and scratches, there is a few impact marks as well. This is the rare variety without the maltese cross trade mark. Comes with a lid that fits. Grade: 6.4 Estimate: $200 - 250
