Ornate vinegar with leaf pattern around shoulder and base. Base Mark: Robert Thin / (British Registration Diamond) / Liverpool. Goldfields Vinegar Applied top. Neck ring. 9 scalloped rips down neck to shoulder, where there is a leaf pattern draped over the shoulder between each of these nine ribs. Six ribs down the bottle at the front from here, with a label space at the rear. There is a leaf pattern at the bottom of each of these six ribs. Aqua. 26 oz. 334 mm. 1850s
Very Good. Dull all over with scuffs and scratches, although not many of these appear to be deep. There is a 10 mm surface split on the lower neck, this does not go through the glass, it goes about half a millimetre into the glass and is a manufacturing mark. There is a natural dip in the lip. A little nick to the upper lip is likely a making split. A little bit of inner dirt. A couple of fisheyes. A little fine wear to the high points of some of the embossed design. A solid example of a lovely bottle. Grade: 7.3 Estimate: $100 - 150
