E. Rowlands / late / Rowlands & Lewis / Ballarat & / Melbourne / Ginger Ale // E. Rowlands / (Shield) / (Miner & Farmer) / (Coat of Arms) / Trade Mark. Dot to centre of the base. Aerated Water Cork Stoppered Tall blob top cylinder. Applied top. Aqua. 10 oz. 232 mm. 1870s-1880s
Very Good. This would probably be the best example ever of this scarce bottle BUT the top on the trade mark side has a 6 x 5 mm chip with a 10 x 11 mm bruise and fracture on the inside. There is also a 5 x 4 mm shallow chip on the right side of the lip. The rest of the bottle is stunning with a light scratch or two and the odd mark. The embossing is strong and crisp, still a great looking bottle despite the lip damage. Grade: 7 Estimate: $100 - 150
