Emmetts. Potters Stamp: Stephen Green / Imperial Potteries / Lambeth. Ginger Beer Impressed All white. Impressed. 10 oz. 160 mm. 1850s
Very Good. Very rare and early Tasmanian ginger beer from Hobart Town. The front lip has a small flake only just through glaze depth. Couple of other possible spots of wear to lip, there are some discoloured glaze misses from making. The front shoulder has a flake to the left about 7 x 5 mm, another to the right about 4 x 3 mm and right in the middle is a 8 x 6 mm dint that is glazed over and from making. There is some minor wear to the rest of the shoulder, as well as some discoloured glaze misses. From the front shoulder down 20 mm through the M is a scratch with a small spot through the glaze at the bottom of it. This is a V shaped scratch that goes back up to the shoulder. The front right side has a really fine glaze hairline down about 55 mm from the shoulder. There is some light wear to the glaze on the body. Some minor little nicks around the base edge appear to be pottery pulls from making. Lovely, and rare piece, you will not see these for sale very often at all. Grade: 7.2 Estimate: $500 - 750
