Pair of Fruit Preserving Jars: 1. Signal. Base Mark: Cross within a circle. 2. "Clipper". No base mark. Household Jar Various Various. 1910s-1920s
1. Good. Large 30 x 15 chip to right lip. Left lip has a 50 x up to 6 mm chip. 24 x 6 mm flake under right side shoulder seal. Small chip to rear part of this protruding rim as well. Some dirt and light haze throughout. Light scratches scattered around. With the lid in place, the major lip damage cannot be seen. Being such a beautiful colour, this would be a nice one for the jar collector. 2. Fair. Large 30 x 20 mm chip through front right lip. 65 mm crack to front left base edge which runs along the corner and so is hard to see, but there. Some haze. Some scratches. Extremely rare jar, with a lid in place, this would still look good as a shelf filler. Grade: N/A Estimate: $20 - 30
