Premier Aerated Waters Co. / Trade (CS monogram) Mark / Launceston. Base Mark: M. Aerated Water Codd Applied top, spun finish. Two way pour "Niagara" style patent with four tear drops. Aqua. 10 oz. 247 mm. 1910s
Very Good. Oiled internally. Some dullness with light haze to be found. Two bubbles to the front shoulder have burst, these have been filled with crystal clear or the likes some years ago, which have subsequently yellowed somewhat, one of these appears to be quite deep. They are about 12 x 8 mm and 5 x 11 mm. Some texta mark to the rear. Scuffs and scratches, mostly to the shoulder area, but still to be found elsewhere. Quite a hard bottle to get. When showing this to a fellow collector, he asked me if I noticed anything odd, which I could not. Needless to say, when he pointed out that it had not one but TWO marbles in the chamber, I was slightly embarrassed! We have looked at this under magnification and under UV light and can only come to one conclusion - this bottle was made like this! It does not appear to have been tampered with in any way in recent times, the marbles will not come out under any circumstances, the top has not been stuck on, so someone when making it had a bad day and overestimated the marble requirements! Grade: 7 Estimate: $200 - 250
