No embossing: Small Goldfields pickle known as a Thatcher's pickle. Small indent to base. Goldfields Pickle Six arched panels. Facetted shoulder and neck. Crude applied top. Half Pint. 185 mm. 1850s
Very Good. Polished. Lovely little pickle. A chip has been polished out of the base edge, the remains of this are only 6 x 1 mm and a fraction of a millimetre deep. This would have been reasonably small, and has been blended in rather well, so is not very noticeable at all. There are some fine scratches on the panel up from this as well. Some very light haze in the neck and a bit of wear to the lip. Some very minor evidence of pitting near the shoulder and a few very small open bubbles over the surface. Some minor impacts and scratches remaining throughout. This is an extremely rare Goldfields pickle and is the only complete example we have seen. Grade: 7.65 Estimate: $2000 - 2500
