Goldfields Cricket Belt Buckle: ELITE CRICKET BELT, with crossed bats in the middle surrounded by a belt. Rear belt clip has the British Registration Diamond with 940 & 941 around the top edge. Goldfields Buckle Brass belt buckle with ornate pressed design. Looks like a double insert style, with both the central cricket bat design and the out writing band being separate attachments. 62 x 48 mm. 1860s
Excellent. Stunning buckle, condition is amazing. Has been cleaned in water only, there are still spots of dirt around the embossing. The central insert has no lugs poking through, this has been glued into place to stop it from falling off. The outer band with writing is still connected with lugs, but may have had some glue applied to prevent it from coming off in the future. Plenty of gold plating evident underneath, the top side has only small spots remaining. Still has the belt clips in place. Some spots of stain to the front. A superb buckle, this is quite solid and heavy as well with pretty much no bends to the edge, which is a rarity. Grade: 8.3 Estimate: $100 - 125
