Moore / (Large Rampant Lion) / Newcastle. Base mark: BGW / O I O. Aerated Water Codd Applied top. Four way pour Dobson style patent with four dimples. Aqua. 7 oz. 243 mm. 1890s
Very Good. Polished. The lip has had some very minor reworking done to it. Looks like a couple of shallow flakes have been removed from the base edge as well. Three discoloured fisheyes to the rear, the largest of which is 4 x 3 mm. Several other fisheyes remain throughout. Dullness to inner neck. Shallow flake under applied lip, this is a manufacturing mark. Either side of the embossing the glass is uneven where the bottle has been prepared prior to the polish, similar uneven marks around the neck grooves. The embossing is good, the trade mark is huge and very well detailed. A solid enough example of this impressive codd bottle. Grade: 7 Estimate: $100 - 150
