John Alberty / Vieux / Cognac / 1815 / Bordeaux. Dot to centre base. Spirits Cognac Applied string rim type flat lip. Dark olive green. 26 oz. 275 mm. 1850s
Excellent. Possible minor nibbles to outer lip, but could also be natural folds to the glass. To right of seal there are a couple of surface splits that go a very short way into the glass. Small drip of glass at bottom of applied seal has attached to the bottle, causing a very small flake from the glass. Light scuffs right around the shoulder, also some to the body and around the base. Light scratches scattered around the body. Small spot of slightly deeper scratches near rear base. Lovely swirls to the glass and whittling throughout. Superb, early Australian found bottle. Grade: 8 Estimate: $250 - 300
