(Horse and rider jumping a hurdle within an inverted horse shoe) / Trade Mark // Moonee / Valley Coy / Melbourne / MVBW. Base mark: MV. Aerated Water Codd Applied top. Four way pour Dobson style patent with four dimples. Deep Aqua. 7 oz. 195 mm. 1890s
Very Good. Polished. A few fine splits and annealing marks to the upper lip from manufacture. The O and N of Moonee has some chipping and flaking to the upper parts of the letters that looks like it has had some reworking done to it in the polishing process to slightly disguise this area around the neck groove. Couple of little under base flakes. Couple of fisheyes to the base heel, there are a few little ones scattered around the bottle as well. Some scuffs and scratches remaining. Some minor haze to inner neck. Small impact bruise to middle of M of Moonee. A really nice example of this highly sought after bottle, this is a slightly deeper aqua than standard codds, and is made by the highly sought after Moonee Valley Bottle Works. It is also the rarer small size! Grade: 7.5 Estimate: $300 - 400
