Stoneware character decanter/dispenser. Face of man wearing sleeping cap. No makers marks. Similar to last auction, smaller size and different glaze. Character seems to be Johnny Souter? Spirits Whisky Stoneware character piece with opening at top of cap. Applied handle to back. Tan top and off white lower section. Quart? 200 mm. 1870s-1880s
Excellent. Front left base edge on the shirt collar has an 8 x 7 mm chip. There is a crack across the width of the handle at the bottom join (about 32 mm in length). A couple of other little flakes around the base edge. A really nice piece. Grade: 8.1 Estimate: $200 - 250
