"Chicago" / Fruit Jar. Base Mark: M. Household Fruit Jar Wire bail and swing stoppered jar, with immerser. Aqua. Quart. 189 mm without lid. 1900s
Very Good. Some flakes around the ground lip, one to the front outer lip, another to the front inner lip, and other smaller ones scattered around. Wire is rusty with some rust marks on the glass near the wire as well. Some grime to the upper neck. A couple of shallow flakes to the upper left front. Scratch to front mid body, there is a series of small horizontal scratches to the rear body as well. Some external scuffs and scratches. Some dirt to the inner base area and up the sides a bit. Under the base is a black mark 25 mm long that I thought initially was a texta mark. On close inspection, this appears to go into the glass, and so is some sort of weird manufacturing mark. The immerser has several chips and flakes around the outer edge and under the top where the glass surface would meet the glass jars. Grade: 7.7 Estimate: $100 - 150
