Ornate Chinese Opium Bowl. Goldfields Chinese Grey pottery, Chinese characters on opposing sides of upper opening. Toggle marks all around the upper and lower outer edge. Sides of the bowl have a rope pattern around the circumference in the middle. Bottom hole of this bowl has an insert of some sort, not sure what this is made from. 62 mm diameter. 1880s
Very Good. Some deep wear over a short section on upper edge. Dints and nicks to ribs around the outer edge, likely from making. Split from bottom hole. Some wear. Lovely example of a Chinese Opium Bowl, in a very unusual design. Grade: 7.8 Estimate: $100 - 150
