John M. Headrick, (printed on lip). No potters stamp. Demijohn Whisky Made for a wicker basket where lower shoulder down is unglazed. White glazed top with black ink printed around lip. 2 Gallon. 380 mm. 1890s?
Near Mint. Superb condition. There are a few scuffs and marks around the unglazed part. Little manufacturing blowout on the shoulder, a couple of other smaller ones can be found. There is a very shallow flaked mark on the base edge. Patch of rusty looking staining on the shoulder. Interesting stamp around the lip. Looks like there had been a town name on the back side but that has been removed before the stamp was used on this demijohn. Headrick was a merchant based in Rockhampton and operated throughout central Queensland.
