Thomas Stokes / Trade (Kangaroo) Mark / Bunbury // Wm Barnard / & Sons / London. Smooth base. Aerated Water Codd Dobson or Four way type. Applied top. Aqua. 10 oz. 231 mm. 1890s-1900s
Very Good. Front lip has a very shallow 3 x 3 mm flake chip. Some other small flakes and marks around the lip. Surface of the bottle is a bit scratchy and dull, predominantly down the left front around the trade mark, with some on the right side of the kangaroo as well. Super strong embossing has some wear to the high points. Back underside of base has an impact mark with associated 8 x 8 mm bruise, there is a 15 mm scratch near this. Inside is still a bit dirty with some light milky stain. There are some small fisheyes around the body. Should polish up well and quite a scarce variation in the English made, Dobson variety. Grade: 7.4 Estimate: $250 - 300
