Goldfields Whisky Applied top, ring around neck with nine panels below this down the bottle, six go all the way down, three end below a thistle on the shoulder leaving a label space. There are two other thistles on the shoulder around the bottle. At the base of each panel is an embossed tapered line coming up the bottle to a point. Under the base is a British Registration Diamond, upper part has 111, M in the top quadrant, 1 in the right quadrant, 2 in the bottom quadrant, C in the left quadrant. Aqua. 26 oz. 328 mm. 1860s
Fair. Right side base has had a hole repaired with some type of resin. This is 22 x 10 mm, there is still a tiny hole in the corner of this repair. A 30 mm crack comes up from this, there is also some scratching in this area where the repairer has sanded the glass. At the bottom of the repair is a fracture over about 40 mm, most of this fracture is exceptionally difficult to detect as it goes along the base corner edge. Otherwise the bottle is lightly dull all over with some scuffs marks and light scratches. Still presents extremely well, in fact could easily be shown. Grade: 5.8 Estimate: $400 - 500
