Pewter(?) or similar alloy oil container. Chinese characters to base. Goldfields Chinese Pewter or similar alloy (Item is very heavy suggesting a fair degree of Lead in the making?). Opening to top and pouring spout. Approximately 5 oz. 115 mm. 1850s-1870s
Excellent. Has been cleaned and has fine scratches to the surface from this. Has some degree of wear and small marks and dents but nothing major. Reputedly found on the Victorian goldfields over 50 years ago. Nice item. Grade: 8.4 Estimate: $30 - 50
