(Rooster) / Courage / Crest / Lager. Advertising Mirror Approximately 64.5 cm high x 41.5 cm wide. 645 x 415 mm. 1970s
Very Good. Possibly could be excellent as there is not much wrong with this. The print is on the glass as opposed to under the glass, and so has some scratching and marks to it. In fact, this is not glass at all, rather it is a fine silver coloured piece of plastic or maybe a thin sheet of aluminium? There are some scratches and scuff marks on this section as well. Although it does reflect, it is not the best mirror we have seen in that aspect. The British base Courage Brewery attempted to break into the Australian market by building a factory in Broadmeadows in 1966, ultimately it failed and the Sydney brewer, Tooth & Co bought them out in 1978. In their short time, Courage were actively advertising their product via numerous means, this mirror, however, is the first of this form of advertisement that we have seen. Grade: 7.5 Estimate: $150 - 200
