Fine Old / Sandersons / Scotch. Advertising Dispenser Ornate bulbous back bar dispenser on a stem and pedestal with tap. Etched writing with remnants of gold plating remaining. The lid itself is very ornate, is about 225 mm high alone. 500 mm, plus 225 mm for lid. 1900s
Near Mint. The sheer size of this piece is amazing! There are a few minor flaked areas on the inner rim, the outer rim has a few sections where it has obviously had some minor grinding done to conceal some of the flakes, this may have been done when the piece was made? There is a fine layer of dirt and grime which will clean off. Only about 50% of the lettering has the gold leaf remaining. The tap and cork sit very nicely within the tap hole, not sure if this is original, but it looks good to me. There is a possible flake to the lower part where the tap goes in. There is some flaking to the rear of this tap hole from manufacture. There is some minor flaking around the base where the piece stands on the table, which is to be expected. A few scratches throughout. The lid is very ornate, it stands 225 mm by itself! It is a bit dusty, but looks to be in great condition otherwise. Approximately one third of the original gasket is missing. The very lower part of the lid has a few chips, one larger one over 2 cm, but shallow, there are some other small flake type marks, to be expected from a piece where glass contacts glass frequently. Once the dirt and grime is washed off, this will be an absolutely stunning piece that would be the pride of place in any collection or on any bar! Grade: 9 Estimate: $1250 - 1500
