Lot 59: Thorning Dillon Mackay Crown Seal Bottle

Fair. Has been extensively polished, some lettering is slightly rounded. There is a milky looking horseshoe fracture to the lip over about 16 x 5 mm on the left front of the top. There is a 7 x 4 mm discoloured ding on the right hand side seam down towards the bottom, with a 7 x 5 mm chip to the base at the bottom of this same seam. H and K in lettering have some flaking, the rest of the letters have some form of wear and small fisheyes. There is crate wear evident around the shoulder area mainly, with some pitted type marks, scuffs and scratches still to be found after the polish. There are still a few fisheyes to be found. Internally there is a light overall haze, with some minor scratches inside the neck. Thorning and Dillon were only in partnership for a couple of years from 1913 to 1915. Grade: 5.5 Estimate: $20 - 30
