S. M. Ball / Registered / Trade (Bull's Head) Mark / Bulli / New South Wales // This bottle is the property / of S.M. Ball, Bulli. Crude machine rings to base. Aerated Water Crown Seal Offset seams to top. Light amethyst. 13 oz. 212 mm. 1910s-1920s
Very Good. Tiny 3 x 2 mm flake to lip at rear. Small nibble to front of top, like a tiny scratch. The front shoulder has a small flake, 3 x 2 mm which seems to be from a tiny impact mark. Small surface impact mark to the nose of the bull. Some scratches to the left front shoulder area and a few other small scuffs and scratches to be found. This is a simply stunning and early piece. One of the earliest Australian machine made bottles, it is extremely crude, with an offset seam, the amethyst colour and rough wavy type glass make this an amazing piece. There are thousands of tiny bubbles through the glass, this is a must for any crown seal collector. Grade: 7.75 Estimate: $400 - 500
