J. W. Horsburgh / Trade (Bow and arrow) Mark / Nagambie // Lemonade (Down the rear). Base Mark: HM620 / (AGM modern monogram) / M. Aerated Water Codd Applied top, tooled finish. Niagara Style with four tear drop lugs. Clear. 13 oz. 234 mm. 1930s
Excellent. For all intents and purposes, this appears to be an earlier example than it actually is. We were quite surprised to see the more modern base mark. There are a few fisheyes to be found scattered around, including one on the front shoulder. The rear base and up onto the body over a patch of about 50 x 35 mm has extensive scratching like this part has been sticking out of the ground for some years. A small impact mark exists right under the base at this point as well. The first A of Nagambie has a 5 x 7 mm chip/flake from it, all other embossing is crisp and clear with no wear whatsoever, just the odd fine fisheye or two to be seen. A weird mould mark internally behind the trade mark, this is not damage of any form. This is a beautiful example of a rare bottle, these are considerably rarer than the earlier Baud versions of the same trade mark from Nagambie. Grade: 8.25 Estimate: $200 - 250
