Charge of the Scotch Greys at Balaklava. Base Mark: No 3. Prattware Jar Multicoloured prattware jar featuring highly detailed scene of horses charging at Balaklava. 95 mm. 1850s-1860s
Excellent. Tiny nibble on inner lip. Outer lip has two small glaze flakes. Some light crazing to be found, there are a couple of places on top where this may be a fine hairline that has slightly discoloured. Couple of tiny flakes to glaze on lower neck. Body of jar is great, only minor marks here and there. No damage at all under the base, the only thing is some discolouration which is very common with pratt jars and some crazing. Internally there is some heavy staining. This is a prime example of a great jar from the popular Crimean War series. Grade: 8.4 Estimate: $250 - 300
