Cherry Tooth Paste / For beautifying and preserving the teeth & gums / (Queen's Portrait) / Prepared by John Gosnell & Co Ltd London / Patronized by the Queen. Pot lid Tooth Paste Round lid with slight dome. Yellow on light green. 79 mm diameter. 79 mm diameter. 1890s
Good. Has had restoration to the flange, the chip restored measures internally about 35-40 mm x 10 mm, externally it appears to be over about 45 mm x 10 mm. This has been poorly painted, some of the paint goes onto the face, but the repair is not on the face of the lid. There is a 30-40 mm hairline extending straight into the centre of the lid from this chip. A small glaze flake to the rim near the bottom of the lid. A small flake under the bottom of the flange and a few other fleabites around the flange as well. This displays very well and is worth considering for the superb colour. Does come with a nice matching base, which has a couple of horseshoe cracks to the upper rim, a few small flakes and some rust spots and crazing. Grade: 6 Estimate: $20 - 30
