Grigsby & McSweeney / Trade (Dove/Bird) Mark / Geelong // M.G.B.Co. Aerated Water Codd Bulge or Bulb type. Applied top. Aqua. 10 oz. 236 mm. 1890s
Very Good. Generally solid example of a rare pictorial codd. Bottle is finely scratched and scuffed all over. Internal back lip has a 7 x 3 mm bruise. A couple of deeper scratches on the back side of the cross pinch, one culminating in an impact type small bruise. A few light fisheyes to be found. Embossing is a bit light on the trade mark but still clear. There is some chipping of the letters on the first part of Grigsby and the N of Geelong. As we've said a solid example but needs some work to really look its best. Still a reasonable example of this rare Victorian codd bottle. Grade: 7.15 Estimate: $200 - 300
