H.J. Gamble / Trade (Bell) Mark / Melbourne // Please / replace stopper. Base Mark: M. Aerated Water Internal Thread Applied top, tooled finish. Deep amethyst. 26 oz. 254 mm. 1900s
Excellent. Has a light internal haze. Some rust spots here and there such as the top and a tiny rust spot to front right shoulder. A few scratches / scuffs to the rear towards the base, the longest is 14 mm, there are 4 more considerably shorter marks above this. Very shallow 2 x 1 mm flake to the top of the lip on the left side and a tiny fleabite under base. Embossing is heavy, the lettering has some flaking and wear to it, the trade mark is not blemished in any way (except for a spot of rust). This bottle was found in an old rock wall on a farm many years ago, it had been exposed to fifty years of ultraviolet rays, hence the beautiful deep and most importantly 100% naturally sun turned amethyst. A simply stunning bottle in this colour which is amazingly rare due to the colouration. Grade: 8.05 Estimate: $1000 - 1250
