Pegwell Bay Kent prattware jar. Under base are small impressed marks: TS and No 2 Household Prattware Ceramic Meat or fish paste pot. Multicoloured print on white background. Holds around 3 oz. 83 mm. 1850s-1870s
Excellent. Lovely, bright print. Light inner rim wear in a couple of spots. There is a hairline inside the top. Bottom edge has light wear around most of it and small flake type marks. There is a small touch up to the side near the base, possibly about 12 x 3 mm. There is another base flake repair over about 24 x 10 mm, this has discoloured. It does not appear to encroach on the side of the jar. There is a small horseshoe crack near this on the bottom edge. Under the base is a shallow flake, 5 x 2 mm. Does have crazing with a fine glaze hairline at the bottom of the neck. Discoloured spotty type glaze around the lip. Some scratches and marks over the main part of the jar. Generally a nice solid example however. Grade: 8.25 Estimate: $100 - 150
