Rosella Preserving Co / Ltd / (Rosella on branch) / Regtd / Trade Mark. Base Mark: M. Household Miscellaneous Jar Sheared lip, banded wide mouth household jar. 5 ounce, clear. 155 mm. 1900s
Excellent. There are some dints, some flakes, etc from the lip, being a crude sheared and ground lip, these are typical of manufacture. There is a small discoloured internal lip impact, again quite possibly from the making of this great bottle, although it is impossible to tell. Some of the shoulder bands have some minor wear in patches. There are a series of surface scratches to the right rear upper panel, these are light. The lowest band near the base has a small flake from it at the front, only 2 x 2 mm. There is some very, very light haze internally and a bit of grime. These are an exceptionally rare bottle in any condition, we have only seen two other examples, they have both had several fractures in them as the glass is prone to damage. This is by far the best example we have seen. Grade: 8.65 Estimate: $500 - 750
