Chas Cole & Co / Trade / Bird & Fish / Mark / Geelong / British Syphon Co London. Top is from J. T. Franklin & Co Pty Ltd, Geelong. Aerated Water Soda Syphon Cylindrical body, stepped in base. Heavy flint type glass, tooled finish. Clear glass. 30 oz. 238 mm without top. 1890s-1900s
Good. A shallow chip on the back shoulder measures 7 x 8 mm. There is a large bruise to the side base extending between the pedestal and the body of the bottle itself. This bruise measures 25 x 20 mm but is quite difficult to see over a large part of it. I count at least another 9 small bruises around the pedestal base. Fortunately most of these (except for a couple) are to the back and side. Underside of base is quite worn where the bottle rests. Body of bottle has a lot of wear and scratches from repeated use. Back shoulder has a series of around 6 very small fisheyes. Good detailed print, not a bad example. The top has the small upper screw on part missing. Grade: 6.4 Estimate: $45 - 55
