A.B. James / Bathurst embossed in slug plate to front of bottle. Base mark: KBC monogram (Kilner Bros Conisboro) / 4787 Aerated Water Lamont Applied top, lamont patent. Aqua. 13 oz. 234 mm. 1890s
Good. Has a shallow chip to the front side lip, 9 x 7 mm and about 1 mm deep at the worst. This bottle does have light crate wear around the shoulder, some scuffs and scratches across the rear and over most of the external surface to an extent. Having said that, it looks shiny in the most part. The inside is predominantly shiny, there is a minor very light haze to be seen in a couple of patches, but not much at all. The embossing is strong, a couple of the letters were struck poorly, for instance in Bathurst, the B and T are very strong, the A between them is lighter. Gives the bottle a nice crude effect. The lettering has some minor scuffs to the high points on some of the letters. There is a small impact mark at the front base heel. This is a very rare lamont from Bathurst which does look good on the shelf. Grade: 6.5 Estimate: $200 - 250
