Written sideways on bottle: Goulburn Valley Co / Regis (World) tered / Trade (World) Mark / Melbourne // G.V.C M.G.B.Co makers mark around rear heel. No base mark, smooth base. Aerated Water Codd Applied top, dobson patent four way pour marble bottle. Aqua. 13 oz. 224 mm. 1900s
Good. This bottle has had a polish, but still retains extensive crate wear. The outer edge of the upper lip has numerous small nibbles, and a few larger shallow flakes, one being 6 x 6 mm and shallow, another 5 x 7 mm and even shallower. There are some nibbles to the lower edge of this applied top as well. The G on the reverse side has some chipping to the upper part of the lettering. The crate wear is most prevalent around the shoulder and around the base, although it is still evident on the main body of the bottle and all over the top. This remains a reasonable example, considering that they were nearly all found at the North Melbourne tip, very rarely will you come across one of these in anything approaching mint condition. Grade: 6.2 Estimate: $50 - 75
