No embossing. Known as a Whybrow Salad Oil. Series of eight lobed ridges coming down from a neck ring just over the top shoulder. No base mark. Goldfields Salad Oil Applied top. Aqua. 10 oz. 236 mm. 1860s
Excellent. There is a surface scratch running down one side. A scuff mark to upper side seam. A small scratch to one of the upper lobes. Three base edge impacts, the worst of which has a small flake, 4 x 1 mm associated, which is a fraction of a mm deep. Some dust in the base internally. A few minor anealing splits internally from where the lip was applied. These are nearly always in poor condition, to get one like this is particularly nice. Grade: 8.9 Estimate: $50 - 75
